These days, it
is common place to hear people say it has become increasingly difficult to tell
a real prophet of God from a fake. It is hard to tell who is of God and who is
of the devil. But, the fact remains that there are still a few sincere men of
God out there and Prophet Adetunji Adeonigbagbe, the founder of Celica Church
of Christ world wide, is definitely one of the few true anointed men of God around
today. Celica Church of Christ is headquartered in Ibadan but it has grown in leaps
and bounds, even beyond the shores of the country.
Prophet Emmanuel
Adetunji Adeonigbagbe is one of the outstanding men of God whose calling has
stood the test of time. Testimonies of the manifestation of God’s powers in his
life abound. Mention the name, Celica, and you will be surprised to find that
the church is hugely popular, not just within Ibadan where it is headquartered,
but even outside of the ancient city. The church, which became fully
established in 1992, has been led by the spiritually gifted and unbelievably
humble Prophet Adeonigbagbe. And it has continued to flourish ever since, with
branches sprouting up in different parts of Europe and America. And it’s all
down to the visionary leadership of the award-winning Prophet Adeonigbagbe who
has remained steadfast and undistracted from doing that which he was called to
do, which is God’s work, despite his accomplishments since he left the fold of
the Celestial Church of Christ over 30 years ago.
One of the many things that stand out Prophet Adeonigbagbe is his unwavering passion for God. He delights in sharing the word of God. Even from his daily video messages, it is easy to see the joy and happiness that radiate through him the moment he begins to preach the word of God. This explains why, at almost 75, Baba still exudes the same passion, energy and dedication that he had when he was still in his 30s and 40s. Prophet Adeonigbagbe never jokes with the word of God, it is his life, the very essence of his being.
Two weeks ago, at the 31st Adult Harvest and Thanksgiving Service of the Celica Church of Christ, Ibukun Parish in Olowora, Lagos, Prophet Adetunji Adeonigbagbe bared his mind about some of the unpleasant developments within the Christendom that upset him greatly. He spoke about the disrespect some Christians show to great men of God such as Samuel Bilewu Oshoffa, Ayo Babalola and Moses Orimolade. Below arte extracts of the sermon:
He tells the congregation: "Moses Orimolade started Cherubim and Seraphim, Joseph Ayo Babalola started the CAC while Samuel Bilewu Oshoffa started the Celestial Church of Christ, it was these three great men that appeared to me in the spiritual realm and handed over the staff of authority to me and encouraged me to proceed on my spiritual journey. This is why it always gets me boiling with anger when I see shameless prophets, ungrateful men, who speak ill of Baba Oshoffa and belittle his name. They speak negatively about Baba Oshoffa and yet continue to benefit immensely from the cover of his ministry."
"It is note worthy to mention that it was as a result of the influence of the Celestial Church of Christ that many of them became men of substance, men whose names and reputation open doors in high places. Yet, they speak negatively about the same man whose anointing has elevated them and blessed them beyond measure. This really saddens me to no end. It brings intense pain to my heart. But I know that the wicked shall not go unpunished. They shall be made to regret their actions."
"You the youths of today, you all need to be careful about some of these so called prophets and the sort of street languages that come forth from their mouth such as the very popular one, ‘won ganu si.’ Go and find out, when you get close to these people, the first thing they will first ask you to do is to go and get all sorts of herbs and mix them together all in the name of searching for spiritual solutions to your problems. Is that what the Lord Almighty taught us? Is that what the Bible teaches us?"
"For instance, how can somebody like me ridicule the name of Baba Oshoffa? How can somebody like me insult the legacies of Moses Orimolade? How can I insult Joseph Ayo Babalola when it was these three who got up and gave me the seat on which I sit today, so, if that be the case, then it means I have insulted the very roots from which I came from. A child that openly disrespects and ridicules the mother, by the time his day of reckoning comes, he will be immersed in unbearable shame and pain."
At this point, he request a special song from the choir. The song highlights the ridicule a devoted Christian is often faced with.
“The life of a devout Christian is like that of a mentally unstable person,” he explains the song. “Even you, they call you a mad person because you have refused their invitation to join the occult. Rather, you are always running to the church, morning day and night, and clutching onto your bible. Because you have refused to do money ritual, they mock you and call you a mad person. Because you have refused to do evil unto others and benefit from it, they call you a mad person. But the thing is, if they call you mad, and you too, begin to look at yourself and see yourself as mad, then that means you’re not a true believer in Christ. If you look at the people around you and see the ones that have become billionaires and then you begin to wonder if God still answers prayers, then it means you’re not a true believer. And if you cannot stand on His word and believe that, no matter how long it takes, at His own appointed time God will come through for you and change your story, then you should not call yourself a Christian."
Beloved, what can make you depart from the love of Christ? That is my message for you here today. What can make you begin to peep at the achievements of somebody out of envy when God Himself can take you much higher than where he took that person? But once you begin to peep at other people’s achievements enviously, then you are bound to fall into a pit of ruin and damnation,” he stressed even further, as the entire congregation is engulfed in pin drop silence, each member firmly concentrated on the message and acknowledging the wisdom coming from the teachings of this remarkable man of God.
