DORIS OGALA: The Desperate Woman Who Wanted Pastor Chris Okafor At All Cost

As the dust over the Pastor Chris Okafor debacle with Doris Ogala is gradually settling down, perhaps this is the appropriate time to ask some of us to apply logic and not emotions, to the matter.

Let us all agree that, as a man of God, Pastor Chris erred. He committed a sin considered very grave before God, and for which he has sought the face of God in forgiveness. And he did this publicly, before the whole world, apologising to Doris Ogala and the entire congregation. That in itself is highly commendable,  but trust Nigerians, nobody is talking about it. In this part of the world, nobody is interested in your good deeds, all they want is to see you go down so they can uncork  Champaign and celebrate your downfall. That's what brings such people great joy.

Now, the question some sensible people who apply logic to issues are asking is that, is Doris Ogala not just taking advantage of the fact that Chris Okafor is a man of God and so knew she would enjoy lots of public sympathy if she went on social media to wail? If Okafor was an unknown personality, would she have gone this route and try to pull him down like she's doing to Pastor Chris? It is definitely not likely.

Many have argued, not on social media, that if this were in a different context, the only way Doris would've had a case is if the man of God raped her. But he didn't. At least, she has not alleged he did.

It's easy to get all caught up in the emotions of the case and forget who Doris Ogala really is. Those who know her closely know she is not the cry, cry baby she's making out to be on social media. Doris is a big time hustler. She is a cold hearted, harder -than -you -know babe who can go any extra mile to make good money for herself. For those Doris Ogala sympathisers, know this and know peace, your favourite girl is not the Cinderella you think she is!

We are talking about the same Doris Ogala who, only a few weeks ago, went on social media to allege that she had evidence to prove that Senator Natasha Akpoti paid some people to bully and lie against the Senate President, Senator Akpabio. Of course, Senator Natasha responded swiftly by saying she never heard of the name Doris Ogala and would appreciate if she could go ahead and make public her supposed evidence otherwise she may consider taking legal action. That was the last time Doris mentioned the subject publicly ever again!

The game she wanted to play is this- harass Natasha on social media, scare her into thinking she actually had something against her and then she calls her and offer good money to keep her mouth shut. But Natasha called her bluff.  Clearly, this Doris Ogala doesn't look like an innocent lady in any shape or form.

It was this same Doris Ogala that was embroiled in a fraud case with her colleague, Benedict Johnson sometime ago.

She has never been too far away from the headlines. She has had brushes with many of her colleagues including Tonto Dike. The point is this, Doris Ogala is not the innocent saint many of her sympathisers think she is, she tougher and deadlier than that. Her romantic transactions didn't go well with Pastor Chris Okafor that's all, if there was indeed one.

She wanted the romantic liaison to continue even after she dumped him to  marry another man and then ran back to him after the marriage crashed. But somehow, things didn't work out as planned and the result is what we have on our hands now.

It is understandable that many sympathise with Doris Ogala. It is quite easy to play the victim when you're taking on a public figure in the mold of a Pastor Chris Okafor. But those who have eyes can see what's going on, it's pretty deeper than many think. And for the records, there's no victim or villain  here, it's just a simple case of a romance gone sour between two people who knew exactly what they were getting into.

It is not in our place to judge and decide who is wrong and who is right. It is not in our place to determine who was jilted and who was not. Let us leave the two adults to recover from the pain and grief this whole episode has brought them and help them move on with their lives afterwards. That is what we owe them at this point, no more, no less!
