Gospel Star, Bidemi Olaoba, Becomes Naija's Most Travelled Artist In The Last 2 Yrs As His Global Demand Rises

These are certainly great times for popular gospel singer, Abidemi Ayodeji Ogunmolu (aka Bidemi Olaoba.) If there is one gospel artist right now whose popularity is fast growing beyond the shores of this country, it has to be the young and talented gospel sensation.

Give it to him, Bidemi has worked really hard in the last couple of years, putting out one hit song after another and enjoying a mass appeal that has become unprecedented in the gospel music genre.

Here in Nigeria, it’s not just the young Christians that are crazy about Bidemi’s brand of gospel music, the older generation and even non-Christians now form a large chunk of his fan base.

They just cannot get enough of his high tempo, fast paced and intensely inspiring hit songs. But right now, thousands of Nigerians in the Diaspora and even foreigners are demanding for live performances of the gospel sensation. They all love his music to bits.

In a recent media chat with journalists held over the weekend, Bidemi expressed his excitement at the development.

“I think it’s a really good feeling for our music to be loved by Nigerians here at home and in the Diaspora. It can only be God and it propels me to do more for God and propagate His word all over the globe,” he stated.

For those who have been privileged to watch Bidemi perform at high octane events such as the annual Experience concert put together by Pastor Paul Adefarasin, it is always difficult to ignore his impressive stage presence and the scintillating performance he brings to the table. You will definitely want to see him perform again and again. With humongous hits such as ‘Give me chance’ and ‘Isi gini’ among others and the energy with which he delivers the songs, sending 600,000 excited audience into a frenzy, Bidemi is simply remarkable. His consistent top quality performances have endeared him to thousands of fans within and outside the country as he becomes one of the most sought after gospel stars from the African continent.

How does he feel about this big break he’s made into the global scene, performing at major cities in Europe and America?

“It’s a huge blessing, I must confess,” he beams with smile. “Yes, we have been very busy in the past one year and I think that it’s just God rewarding us for all our hard work. It’s not been easy, it’s not been a bed of roses but we are thankful for what God is doing.”

Indeed, for about two years running now, Bidemi has been in high demand, playing back to back at various Christian gatherings and traveling all around the globe to perform to diverse audience and making him possibly the most traveled Nigerian singer in the last two years.

From 2024 to now, to say Bidemi has been busy would be putting it mildly. The guy and his team have been working round the clock non-stop, traversing the globe, performing back to back. From In His Presence, his own show held at Onikan Stadium, which attracted over 15,000 attendees, to another one held at University of Lagos, which also attracted over 10,000 fans, he has been busy drawing people closer to God with his music.

But perhaps his biggest concert yet remains the Experience, held annually in Lagos with over 600,000 Nigerians in attendance. It’s one massive event that brings together some of the biggest gospel music voices from all over the world.

The foreign concerts are also just as big and exciting. There is the Festival of Praise held in Manchester. It had in attendance over 21,000 people while the RCCG North America had over 20,000 attendees. These were events that made headlines and left a lasting impression of Bidemi’s undeniable talent in the minds of everyone that attended. But his most frequent travels have come from the powerful ministrations with Travis Greene in South Africa, the UK and for several months running, almost every weekend in Canada and other parts of Europe.

No doubt about it, Bidemi has emerged the most traveled Nigerian artist in the last couple of years. And if truth be told, he deserves all the accomplishments and accolades coming his way. The young man has been a huge blessing to the Christian community all over the world. His different collabos with other gospel music power houses such as Mercy Chinwo, Travis Greene and others have consistently placed him on high demand within and outside the country. And the extremely humble and soft spoken Bidemi says he trusts in God to take him even higher in the coming months, insisting that his best is yet to come.

“I am thankful to God for everything, he has made all of these possible. But I believe there are even bigger things to come because there’s a lot more we are planning to put out there and we’re trusting God to make them happen,” he says.
