When it was time for birthday
tributes, several people came out to say very lovely things about the
celebrant, including her daughter who declared her the best Mum in the world!
Her father, the highly respected Prophet Adetunji Adeonigbagbe, founder of the
globally renowned Celica Church of Christ, also stepped out to give his
daughter a befitting birthday tribute that melted the hearts of everyone
present. His very deep and profound tribute was dripping with his unbridled
love for his beautiful ‘girl’ he calls his girlfriend. Daddy’s emotional
tribute showed clearly that, no matter how old a child grows, that child will
always remain a baby to the parents. For Prophet Adetunji Adeonigbagbe,
Olubusayo remains a special child, just like the rest of his children, but the
fact that she is the only girl makes her occupy a special place in his heart.
Below is Daddy Prophet Adetunji Adeonigbagbe’s birthday tribute to his adorable
daughter, the very elegant Olubusayo Aderonigbagbe. Below are excerpts.
“When my late wife was pregnant with Busayo, the Lord had already told me the kind of child she would turn out to be. My wife thought we were going to have another male child, but before she even got pregnant with Busayo, Busayo was already appearing to me. Even my first child, Olujimi Adeonigbagbe had also appeared to me even before the mother conceive of him and I was told that this work of God that I am doing, he is the one I would hand it over to.
When Olubusayo was coming, the Lord told me the baby would be a girl. We did scan to ascertain her sex and many thought she was a male child. Her mother too thought she was going to be a boy and I wanted a female child because he who has one female child already has two children. If you’re not careful, you may have one male child and it would seem as though you do not even have any child. And when Busayo was eventually born, I noticed that I started to prosper. My blessings began to increase. One thing I love about Busayo is that she has never been rude to me, not even for once. The woman who gave birth to all of them, my wife, literally handed them over to me. It hurts me that she is not physically present here today, but she is here with us in spirit. She was not the kind of mother that shields her children away from their father and make them her own alone. This woman handed over her children to me and said, take, they are yours. This child now turns out to be one child that loves me too much. She loves me to the extent that, it is whatever I do that she wants.
Another very significant thing about Busayo is that she loves God and she loves spirituality more than anything else. Today, that we thought she won’t be able to make it down for the programmed we had I by 7am, we all met her in church by 7 o’clock when we got there. She got there before everybody else. When I wanted to hand her over to her husband, Demola, I was worried, thinking, who is this person I am handing my daughter over to? But I soon realised that Demola too has taken me like a father.
When you give birth to a child that loves you, it is really a big blessing to the parents. If a child loves his or her father, the mother is behind it. Some mothers will give the impression that they are the ones doing everything for the children and the family and not the father. When the children ask for money, she will say go and meet your father, meanwhile, she has given money to me to give to them.
I can remember when we were in the US, the children wanted to change their wardrobe, they came to meet me for money. And I said to them, don’t you know the job your mother does? The children said, but every time we go to her, she will direct us to come and meet you.
I am so very happy today that their mother is in a very good place because, before she departed, she said, ‘Oluwa ti damilare,’ meaning the Lord has vindicated me. How many people has God given such grace at the point of death? Busayo is my girlfriend, that’s what I call her. She’s my love, she’s my confidant. She is everything to me.
Today is not really the birthday of my daughter, but I lost her junior sister in 1998, that’s Saint Ayotomide Adeonigbagbe. She is the one that was born on the 14 of December. But now, Busayo has taken it upon herself, as a mark of honour to her sister, to celebrate her birthday on her late younger sister’s birthday. She was born on April 23rd while her mother was born on April 3rd. I was born on December 25th, which is Christmas day. My first child was born on December 28th.
Busayo takes after me when it comes to handling issues, she does not bear malice, she will speak her mind and let out her anger. And once she does that, everything is over as far as she is concerned. In my family, we don’t keep enmity till late night, we let go of everything. I love you so much, my daughter and I cannot thank you enough for not disappointing me for a moment. I love you.”
