The 40th birthday celebration of Olubusayo Adeonigbagbe-Alade, the beautiful daughter of Celica church of Christ Founder, Prophet Adetunji Adeonigbagbe, took place in Ibadan at the prestigious La Chateau Event center on the 14th of December, 2024. The glamorous event has been the subject on the lips of many who attended the event. The event had all the trappings of a super birthday bash. The interior décor of La Chateau was enchanting. The gold lightings gave the hall a royal ambience, transforming the entire mood of the guests once you stepped inside. And the Ankara Aso-ebi on display was a nice pick, everyone who wore it looked glam in it.
The celebrant, the elegant looking Olubusayo Adeonigbagbe-Alade is a UK based lady who has her roots firmly tied in Ibadan. Her father is the very highly respected and globally renowned founder of the Celica Church of Christ. The church has branches in several parts of the country and even outside the shores of the land. Olubusayo herself is the new Celica Mother of the church. It’s no wonder that many of the guests were members of the Celica church. Lagos based talented music artiste and his band, Jide Harmony, were the band contracted to perform at the event. The minute guests walked into the hall and found that it Jide Harmony on the band stand, their excitement was raised several notches because they knew exactly what to expect from him. And they were not disappointed in the least. He began by playing by 2 pm.
MEET THE ANCHOR PERSON, MC TOKUNBO MARVINS
The anchor person picked for the event was the very versatile and talented Nollywood actor, MC Tokunbo Marvins. The gentleman took the stage shortly after the Jide Harmony gave the guests a brief prelude of what to expect later in the day. From the way he stepped onto the stage and took charge of proceedings, he left no one in doubt about his capability to deliver a seamlessly anchored programme. He cracked the right jokes and knew exactly how to get the event moving at top speed without unnecessary delays.
It was time to get the programme officially started and it had to be done the right way, with the blessings of the most high. Hence, Father Abraham Oyeniyi was called to come and give the opening prayer. It was a brief but powerful prayer that simply called on the Saints to come and take charge of the event.
AMBASSADOR DARE AKANDE IS CHAIRMAN OF
OCCASION
When the anchor of the event, MC Tokunbo Marvins, called him to step out and take his place on the high table, everyone was eager to know who the chairman of the event was going to be. And when the MC called his name, no one was disappointed when they saw Ambassador Dare Akande. He looked every inch a man of substance. Looking cool and elegant in his regal looking traditional Agbada outfit, Ambassador Dare Akande walked confidently to take his place at the high table.
The next personality to join the chairman on the high table was none other than the proud father of the celebrant, His Eminent, the highly revered Prophet Adetunji Adeonigbagbe. He was led to the high table to join Ambassador Dare Akande. You could tell from the smile on the face of Daddy throughout the duration of the event that he shares an uncommon bond with his daughter. He loves her so much. She is a daughter in whom he is well pleased.
CELEBRANT MAKES STUNNING ENTRANCE
The birthday girl, Olubusayo Adeonigbagbe-Alade was looking stunning when she made her entrance into the hall. Everyone stood up, not just to honour her, but also to catch a glimpse of the astonishing look of the beautiful birthday girl. Her blue outfit was a delicately designed dress that accentuated Olubusayo’s lovely figure.
Give it to the ladies, they brought glamour and panache to the event with their amazing sense of fashion. They all turned out looking trendy in the Ankara Aso- ebi chosen for the party. They came into the hall looking dazzling in their various fabulous outfits with eye popping designs. They were all a beauty to behold.
CHAIRMAN’S OPENING SPEECH
Ambassador Dare Akande was soon called upon to give the opening speech. He began by expressing his joy for the celebrant whom, according to him, has attained that significant age where a lot of things begin to change in one’s life. At the age of 40 years, a lot of things begin to change in the body. Some of the things you were doing before, you may not be able to do again. He wished the celebrant a happy celebration and assured everyone they were in for a treat as there were lots to eat and drink.
A handful of people came out give glowing tributes about the celebrant. First to step out was her friend who revealed how special Olubusayo has been to her ever since they began their friendship many years back. Next was Mr. Jide Olaleye and then Temi, the celebrant’s daughter. The adorable looking Temi expressed her profound wishes to her mum, telling her how much she loves her and declares her the Best Mum in the world. She says, “my mum takes care of us, she cooks for us, she is the best mum in the world.”
CELEBRANT’S HUSBAND, DEMOLA ALADE’S GLOWING TRIBUTE
Next was the birthday tribute of the celebrant’s husband, Mr. Demola Alade. The very cool gentleman, obviously a man of few words, described his wife the celebrant, as a very special woman. He says of his wife: “She is a very loving, caring and spiritually strong woman from a very good home.” And with those words, he left no one in doubt that he is extremely proud of his wife.
Final important thing left in the programme was the cutting of the cake and the celebrant’s speech. With the spelling of the name, JESUS, the birthday girl sliced through her beautifully designed birthday cake with the knife in her hand. Afterwards, she was asked to come give her speech. The very excited and grateful birthday girl thanked everyone who had made it down to come celebrate with her, thanking specially, her family and the Celica church family. She expressed her gratitude to all the guests and prayed everyone would return to their respective destinations safely.
JIDE HARMONY THRILLS CELEBRANT AND GUESTS
It was dance, dance, dance all the way. Jide Harmony got all the time he needed to show his dexterity on stage. He sang his heart out to the delight of the celebrant and her friends and guests. He got the4 entire hall dancing, everyone was on their feet. Jide had all it takes to shake the whole hall. If you prefer juju music, he would give it to you in series. If you’re a fuju loving person, he knows all the right melodies you need. And if you’re strictly a gospel loving person, Jide is ready to give doses of gospel songs. The celebrant danced her heart out. And Jide Harmony was appreciated with rainfall of crisp naira notes falling endlessly on him. It was a Saturday of great fun.
There was a lot to eat and drink. Olubusayo’s birthday celebration, despite the rising cost of food stuff, was not one of those parties you go and return home complaining you were not served anything to eat. Everyone was entertained with food and refreshments till the very last minute of the party. It was clear that the celebrant’s focus, more than anything else, was for her guests to eat well and enjoy themselves to the fullest.
