The Police have arrested a man for throwing his two children from a storey building in Umuobe near Barracks Junction, along Opobo in Obingwa local government area of Abia state.
Eyewitnesses said that the man allegedly threw his two children from the upper floor of the building and attempted to throw down his wife before he reportedly fell from the storey building.
The two children were immediately taken to a hospital for medical attention.
It was gathered that both children survived the fall, although details of their medical condition were not immediately available.
As the situation unfolded, residents gathered at the scene and called on the appropriate authorities to intervene and provide assistance.
Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force arrived at the compound at about 6:22 p.m. to assess the situation and take control of the scene.
At about 6:32 p.m., the man was taken away by the police after he reportedly resisted arrest.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear.
