The old saying, a leper never changes his spots, is not only true, it can also be mind boggling when experienced first hand at close quarters. Or how else can one describe the case of Maureen Badejo, the notorious blogger turned blackmailer who, having just been released on bail for slandering and defaming a Pastor, has returned to her old ways shortly after she appeared remorseful and regretful of her actions. Interfering in an isolated case that has absolutely nothing to do with her or MFM, Maureen Badejo, despite the grueling moments she spent behind bars in Kirikiri prison, still couldn't keep her disdain for Dr. Olukoya and MFM under firm control. She just had to come out of her shell where she had crawled into after her Kirikiri humiliation and make, as usual, unfounded and baseless allegations about MFM and Olukoya's involvement in a case they know nothing about. Let us give you the full picture.
Last week, a businesswoman and former NTA staff, Ms. Olufunke Otti, was ordered by the Lagos High Court to return a property she unlawfully acquired from her ex-husband, Chief Isaac Morakinyo Jolapamo.
Justice Olufolake Olufolashade Adewunmi-Oshin declared that the property, located in Parkview Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos, rightfully belongs to Chief Jolapamo and not Ms. Otti.
In addition, the court directed Ms. Otti to refund N410,347,000.00 to Chief Jolapamo, representing the outstanding balance from the proceeds of the sale of two vessels.
She was also ordered to remit N63,000,000.00, being rental income collected from tenants between 2018 and 2021.
Furthermore, the court awarded N5 million in general damages against her.
Here is the meat of the story. Ms. Otti and Chief Jolapamo were formerly married. Their relationship began at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), where Chief Jolapamo had gone in search of spiritual and personal support during a difficult period. Ms. Otti, a member of the church, had met him, and their relationship eventually developed into a romantic one.
The couple formalized their union on February 23, 2017, at the Federal Marriage Registry in Ikoyi, Lagos. According to details from the case, during the marriage, Chief Jolapamo entrusted his wife with significant business responsibilities, including the sale of two vessels—M.T. MOR Prosperity and M.T. Power—with instructions to use the proceeds to acquire a matrimonial home in Parkview Estate, Ikoyi Lagos.
Ms. Otti sold the vessels for N810,347,000.00 and purchased the property as directed.
However, she registered the property solely in her name without her husband’s knowledge.
The marriage was officially dissolved in April 2025 and there was no child between them before the dissolution.
These are the plain facts of the story, no more, no less. Apart from the fact that the two met at MFM, there was no part in their story or the report that was made public that the General Overseer, Dr. Olukoya, or the MFM leadership, had any involvement in their marriage. But the ever mischievous Maureen Badejo who has already been defeated in court by MFM over and over again and ordered to pay millions of naira in damages, suddenly jumped into the fray in another futile attempt to change the narrative by implying that Ms. Otti was a worker or female pastor in MFM who was assigned by some person of authority, possibly implying the General Overseer, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, to get close to Chief Jolapamo so she could fleece him of his wealth. The whole idea behind this dishonest and cruel claim is to attack MFM yet again and bring Dr. Olukoya’s hard earned reputation to disrepute. And yet again, for the umpteenth time, Bade failed.
But let's look at the facts again. First, who is this Maureen Badejo? What integrity does she have to make such outrageous allegations against MFM?
Maureen Badejo is a convicted serial blackmailer and here are just a few of the cases she'd lost against MFM and Dr. Olukoya which tells her story much more clearly.
· Ogun State High Court (2021): Guilty of defaming MFM & Dr. Olukoya – ordered to pay ₦500M.
· UK High Court: Dismissed her appeal as “hopeless and pointless” – ordered to pay £100,000.
Federal High Court, Lagos (March 2026): Remanded in Kirikiri for cyberstalking an MFM pastor. Now, we ask, why should anyone in their right senses take a word of this character seriously? Every time she goes on Instagram or YouTube to defame and slander innocent personalities such as Dr. Olukoya, she makes a great deal of money because unsuspecting public would go to her page to listen to the nonsense she's saying and help her earn millions of naira at the end of the month from YouTube revenue.
She had tried to spin a narrative about how the two were ‘arranged’ to get involved with each other, but, really, how the couple met themselves is very clear and straight forward.
Chief Jolapamo, facing a business crisis, had sought spiritual support at MFM like millions do. He met Olufunke Otti – a regular member, not a minister, prayer warrior, or pastor. Their relationship was private and consensual.
Dr. Olukoya opposed the marriage. It was for this reason the couple left MFM for RCCG for their wedding. There was MFM involvement, no church orchestration.
Lie number one. According to Badejo's claims about Ms. Otti:
“She was an MFM minister” But there's no such record; she was only a regular member.
Lie number two: that Otti was “Assigned to minister to him financially.” There is no such thing in MFM. Never had been, never will be. It is only from Badejo that everyone will be hearing this for the first time. What the couple had was consensual personal relationship, nothing more than that.
Her claim that “MFM endorsed the marriage” is absolutely untrue. Dr. Olukoya opposed it; they left MFM for RCCG.
What Did the Court Actually Say?
The March 26, 2026 judgment ruled on financial misappropriation within a marriage – nothing more.
There was no blame on MFM
· No church orchestration.
· No description of Otti as an MFM minister.
And there’s no where in the story or during the divorce proceedings where it was mentioned that MFM or Dr. Olukoya profited from the millions Ms. Otti got from her marriage to Chief Jolapamo.
So, where then did this convicted blackmailer get her own information from? From her delusional mind of course!.
And many may be wondering why Badejo is doing this. Well, she's doing this not just because she's obsessed with pulling down MFM and Dr. Olukoya, she's actually doing this because she has lost millions. She has been imprisoned, and is now desperate for money and relevance. For her, nothing brings money faster than attacking MFM. It generates outrage and guarantees YouTube revenue. But understanding her pain does not in anyway excuse her lies and treachery. Badejo is a shameless, pathological liar.
Maureen Badejo, a disgraced blackmailer, is not just a liar but also an unstable element who's cruel desire to pull down Olukoya and MFM at all cost has turned her into a cold hearted monster. She should not be taken seriously and the public should’ve known this by now. Maureen can put anyone's life on the line if it guarantees destruction for Olukoya. She, along with her ally, Funke Ashekun, has tried several times to defeat MFM and Dr. Olukoya in court but they continue to fail and yet, she remains unyielding. But one thing is very clear, she and others in her camp will continue to fail in their pursuit of the fall of MFM and its founder. And if anything, they are the ones that are doomed for possibly the most fatal fall of their lives, the sort they may never recover from for the rest of their days. Surely, it is happening already....
