Let me start by congratulating you for being in the Lagos state House of Assembly for three consecutive terms. Kudos to you.
I also want to congratulate you for successfully charting part of your journey in life through a road less travelled but one that leads directly to nation building. The best that people like me have done is armchair criticism; we are afraid of jumping in. Well done.
Let me make it clear to you that i am not related to any politician either in Lagos or elsewhere. No blood relation and no affiliation whatsoever. In fact my closest affiliation should be with Senator Tokunbo Abiru who was my boss back in the corporate world, and we have since lost contact. So the thoughts expressed here are very unbiased and true, not influenced by anybody.
My advice to you at this trying period of your political career is to thread with wisdom so as to emerge with your head strong and shoulders squared up. The best thing is for you to respectfully, though painful, accept the decision of the GAC/Gbajabiamila and support whoever they give the ticket to. That is the honourable thing to do. Please note that the same people that are goading you on will be the ones to vote against you in the primary. More so, they just want to collect your money.
Nonetheless, you must remember that someone was representing that constituency before you arrived on the scene and the ticket was taken away from him and handed to you on a platter of gold. You came in through OBJ and despite Tinubu's personal difference with him Tinubu still accorded you the giant support by "clearing the road" for you.
Hence now that they want you to rest the best you can do is to respect them and remain loyal. No matter how popular you are you should not enter into a direct primary contest: it is a political suicide. Even if you win you have directly called for war and they will frustrate you. Wisdom is profitable to direct and in this situation wisdom wants you to learn from the past. All the people that have rejected leadership direction in Lagos are now in political wilderness. There are many examples that you are aware of. There are also examples of people that retraced their steps after losing out. My brother, it is better to show your loyalty to the leaders and support their candidate. Patience is key: 3 terms in the House of Assembly is just a beginning if you are able to negotiate this trying period properly. You will agree with me that this political "turn by turn" unwritten policy has been used to favour you and it also bodes well for you in future. Age is on your side and you can still rise to be the Speaker, Senator, Governor and even the chairman of the GAC.
