Wave making gospel sensation, minister Bidemi Olaoba, has been busy making headlines and breaking boundaries. The incredibly talented minister of the gospel , who was extremely busy during the Xmas season ministering back to back at all the biggest gospel concerts, is apparently not slowing down yet after a grueling Xmas schedule. At the recently held IN HIS PRESENCE concert, held at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Amphitheatre right next to the Senate building, Bidemi Olaoba showed why he is regarded as one of the top five most in demand gospel ministers in the country at the moment. You cannot mention the top five busiest gospel artistes in the country today and Bidemi's name won't pop up.
The event took place on March 5, 2026 and over twenty thousand students attended even with little publicity. And several days after the concert took place, everyone is still talking about it. Minister Bidemi not only displayed breathtaking musical artistry, he also won more souls for Christ, taking everyone present to a realm where their love and adoration for God grew even higher.
The event was scheduled to take off by 2 pm, but by 12 noon, students began trooping in and by 1 pm, the hall was filled to the brim leaving even more people outside of Amphitheater
There were still thousands waiting to come inside but there was no single space to accommodate more students. The security personnel had a bit of difficulty controlling the restless crowd outside the hall. Everyone wanted to see Bidemi Olaoba live in concert.
Hours before the event started, Bidemi, who was received by the Dean of the Division of the Students Affairs, Professor John Adeolu Odedire, led a prayer walk around the institution with over one thousand students participating. His involvement in the prayer walk was a reassurance of sorts for the students, erasing all doubts as to whether Bidemi would be available for the programme or not.
As the take off time for the event drew close, the next challenge was how to get the star of the show inside the venue. All the entrances were blocked by the mammoth crowd spilling out from inside the hall. By the time Bidemi, sporting a 2 piece cream T-shirt, emerged on stage with his band members, the entire Hall erupted in a frenzy. The atmosphere in the auditorium totally changed. Even before he took the microphone to sing the first song of the night, everyone was on their feet in high expectation of what was to come. By the time his voice filtered through the mic and echoed through the Amphitheatre for the first time on the night, the atmosphere became electric. Everyone was charged up and the transformation was instant.
The night was pure fire. Bidemi took the already charged up crowd of well over twenty thousand students through his repertoire of hit songs. And with Bidemi, every song is a hit song. No bad songs. Once he launches into a new song, the crowd goes wild with excitement. No dull moment. No disappointments. Just pure grace .
The meeting ended around 8 pm but no single student was ready to leave the hall. They were all asking and begging for more. It seemed the entire program lasted only a few minutes when it indeed lasted for hours.
Finally, Bidemi was 'smuggled out' of the hall through one of the exits that had limited crowd blocking it. In His Presence may have come and gone but the memories it left in the minds of those in attendance would linger for a long time to come.
