In Nigeria today, a disturbing trend has emerged. It has now become fashionable for people to go on social media and recklessly drag men of God into baseless issues they barely know little or nothing about. For nothing other than sadistic reasons, young, misguided elements have now found extreme delight in dragging the hard earned reputation of respected men of God in the mud and they say they are merely ‘catching cruise’ or chasing clout. Their joy comes from a desire for notoriety on social media afterwards, attracting thousands of traffic to their social media handles and being seen as daring by their peers. Hiding behind their digital screens to denigrate anointed men of God has suddenly become a perverse measure of courage. Young people who have just barely started life, whose parents are hoping would not falter in their journey towards achieving greatness, now turn to ridicule the same men of God their parents hold in very high esteem and look up to for spiritual guidance. Sad indeed.
But things have even taken a more worrisome turn now. And it is, to say the least, frightening. These psychotic elements have taken matters to a brand new level that defies logic. From the bizarre to the absolutely outlandish, they concoct and fabricate all manner of lies that have ended up incurring the wrath of their targets and getting them into big trouble with the law. A couple of them have been arrested, pleaded for and subsequently released, while some are already in detention and are only a step away from serving jail terms!
No man of God is spared from their malicious attacks. From the elderly and highly revered Baba Adeboye to the least known General Overseer in the land, every man of God is a potential prey of their diabolic social media onslaughts. But one man of God they have launched all manner of attacks against, including claiming he belongs to the occult and calling his ministry all kinds of names but yet, he is still standing tall and unwavering, is the General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries worldwide (MFM), Dr. Daniel Olukoya. There is absolutely nothing they have not hurled at him, yet every single attack has failed woefully.
There is a certain lady who’s cooling off her heels behind bars in Kirikiri maximum prison this very minute, what didn’t she come up with against MFM? For well over two years, she ceaselessly threw everything she could at both the General Overseer and the church. Even the pastors were not spared her vitriolic attacks. She was paid so much money to destroy the image of the ministry and the man behind it, using her social media influence and her followership, that even she threw caution to the winds and began fabricating some of the most unthinkably illogical allegations anyone could ever imagine. Her motive? Spread falsehood about the man and bring down his ministry, and then, left with no choice, he would succumb to blackmail and start paying huge sums of money for the rest of his days! But hard as they all tried, it didn’t work. It could not have worked. And even if they come back in another life and spend their entire lifetime fighting the same man, the results will still be the same –utter failure. And the reasons for their failures are there for all to see, really. But the naivety of the haters and the bitterness of their hearts make it impossible for them to see the futility in their diabolic aspirations.
Going by results of carefully done findings, there are about five key reasons why the haters of Dr. Olukoya and MFM have continued to fail in their numerous attempts to pull him and the ministry down.
To begin with, many do not understand that MFM is a deliverance ministry. It is not one of those run-of-the-mill churches that seek merely to entertain their congregation with loud worldly music in the name of choir ministration and speak empty, flowery sweet sounding English that in no way spiritually edifies the soul. Dr. Olukoya is a fire brand deliverance minister. He is always engaged in spiritual warfare every minute of the day. He teaches that proactive spiritual warfare stops adversaries before they can cause harm, hence the popular slogan- stop them before they stop you! Now, lets be honest, how in heavens name can you possibly forment trouble against a man spiritually armed to the teeth and not get your fingers burnt in the process?
Secondly,
Dr. Daniel Olukoya is not by any means a frivolous man. As a respected clergy
who is dedicated to his work for Christ only, you will never find him on social
media telling stories about how he spends hard currencies buying the most
expensive suits or clothings in the world. He does not talk about his net worth
or that of his ministry. He probably does not even know. But the man has a
weakness- he silently, quietly, spends millions of naira monthly on empowering
youths, widows, the elderly and even fresh graduating students who have
excelled in their academic pursuits. He does not talk about these things. He
even discourages his pastors from talking about them to the public or media.
Anyone close to Dr. Olukoya
will tell you money and material things mean nothing to him. He sees them
basically as a tool with which he needs to propagate the work of God, no more,
no less..Now, how can you harm a man who has no appetite for money and who barely
comes out into the open to make utterances that leave him vulnerable to the
attack of the enemy?
Thirdly, the lady monster who
dedicated her whole life striving to bring Dr. Olukoya's name to disrepute, in
one of her baseless lies, alleged that the MFM founder committed some kind of
fraud in the UK and has been unable to travel back there. He also accused him
of being heavily involved in the occult. These are just two of some of the most
outrageous things she said. But they couldn't hold any water. No sane minded
person believed her because, if truth be told, there aren't too many men of God
who ranked higher than Dr. Olukoya on the integrity scale. The man is squeaky
clean when it comes to the issue of integrity. He is a man of impeccable
character. He does not let controversies that will smear him come near him. Little
wonder he was listed amongst the 100 Most Reputable Africans for 2025. You don’t
make such respectable list if you’re lacking in integrity.
It is said among high ranking
pastors of MFM that the General Overseer does not breathe down their necks
over financial matters, he gives them the free hand to run their various
projects and branches as they deem fit. He believes that he has led by
example and expects his lieutenants to follow suit.
Dr. Olukoya's wife, Dr. Shade Olukoya, has a look that can sometimes be deceptive. Her adorable smile and warm disposition often give the impression she may not be as mentally and spiritually strong as her husband. How wrong can that be. Those who know her very closely warn that underestimating her strength and spiritual prowess might prove to be a costly mistake to her detractors and haters of her husband alike. Make no mistake about it, this is one wife that can take a bullet for her husband. She loves him to bits. And that shouldn't surprise anyone, they have both come a long way together, building MFM from the very scratch and transforming it into a multimillion dollar global ministry that has thousands of visible structures beyond Nigeria with millions of followers in every continent of the world. At this point, one thing is crystal clear - no one born of a woman can come between this two! They are inseparable. They still act like a young couple fresh into marriage. As shy as Dr. Olukoya can be around his wife, her playfulness often disarm him and compels him to play along with her lovey dovey gestures.
This is why very few paid attention to a speculation that was brewed by one of the ministry's most vicious haters that the MFM founder and his wife were no longer together but were keeping their separation away from the public. How crazy can that be!
Give it to her, this incredible woman has stood firmly by her husband, unshaken in her trust and faith in him, knowing she can count on him to come out of all the senseless allegations unscathed. If you like, fire a thousand arrows, or better still, hire the finest lawyers money can acquire and go to the highest court in the land, if the plan is to pull down Dr. Olukoya, then forget it. Not with a prayer warrior wife like Dr. Shade Olukoya. She will fight for him with every last breath in her body. She will evoke the wrath of God upon that enemy, and in the end, that person may just end up in total ignominy. Ask a certain Maureen Badejo, her shameful end is a lesson for all other detractors and ‘aspiring’ haters of Dr. Olukoya and MFM.
