It was indeed a triumphant return for Pastor Chris Okafor,
the embattled Senior Pastor of the
Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry aka Grace Nation, when he returned
to the pulpit after taking a short break off the pulpit for a bit of retreat
and honeymoon. The date was particularly
symbolic, as Dr. Okafor had taken close to one month away from the pulpit
following his wedding late last year. The period served not only as a honeymoon
but also as a season of rest, reflection, and intimate fellowship with God in
preparation for a greater spiritual assignment ahead.
The atmosphere at Grace Nation was electric as
the Generational Prophet and his wife were received with a heroic welcome,
accompanied by prophetic praise, joyful dancing, and fervent prayers. It was a
celebration of return, renewal, and readiness.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Chris Okafor
declared that he had returned to fully pursue the mandate God entrusted to
him—winning souls for the Kingdom of God. He issued a strong warning to the
kingdom of darkness, stating that light and darkness cannot coexist. According
to him, the season ahead would witness intensified spiritual engagement, as the
Kingdom of God advances and the forces of darkness lose ground.
“This time,” the Generational Prophet affirmed,
“it will be total displacement of darkness, as the light of God shines brighter
than ever.”
Delivering a powerful sermon titled “Turning Point,” Dr. Okafor explained that a turning point is defined as a moment when a decisive and beneficial change occurs in a situation. He emphasized that such moments are often preceded by battles.
According to him, battles do not necessarily
arise because one is doing wrong, but because God desires to reveal His power
and teach vital lessons through them. Every genuine battle, he noted, carries
divine involvement and purpose.
Addressing the question, “Why must I fight a
battle?” Dr. Okafor explained that individuals who carry extraordinary grace
often encounter greater challenges. “When you carry what others do not carry,”
he said, “the battles that come your way are usually bigger.”
“Battles push you into your turning point when
you are rooted in the Spirit,” he stated, adding that a prayerful life is
essential for sustained victory and elevation.”
After the service, the
Prime Citizens.com.ng spoke with a few excited members who were willing to talk
to the press. We wanted to know how they fared while he was away and if some
members left the church lately.
“Oh, yes, we are very happy
to see that our dear Papa is back. I personally call him my Daddy because
regardless that I may be older than him in age, he is my spiritual father so I
call him daddy. We have missed him very much. We knew that all the rubbish that
was being said about him were lies and he would be vindicated. It is the devil
trying to bring down the church of God. But as you can see, the church is
filled to the brim, everybody is excited to see him and his lovely wife again.
Let me tell you, do you
know what this man has done in my life? How many can I begin to tell you? Is it
when my daughter was seriously ill and after spending weeks on admission at the
hospital he prayed for her, gave her anointing oil and she was healed? Is it my
own personal issues? Too many. So, I will now leave his church because one
harlot is saying rubbish? Never!”
Adenike Martins:
“This is one of my happiest
days so far this year. Seeing my Pastor and his lovely wife return after their
honeymoon and to see Pastor back on the pulpit just brings joy to my heart.
Whenever I read those nonsense about him on social media, I just shake my head
because people don’t really know how powerful this man is. If they did, they
will not believe all those lies said about him. I mean, you can look around and
see the church bubbing and happy. I read somewhere that members are leaving the
church, and I was like, which church, same church I attend almost everyday and
I see the same crowd filling up the place? You could see there was hardly any
empty seat in the auditorium today.
Everyone came looking really beautiful to welcome Papa and his wife. The
man has impacted in the lives of nearly every single member, so why will anyone
want to leave?”
Madam Josephine:
“See, I don’t think anybody is as happy as I am to see my Pastor today! Nobody is as excited as I am. As you’re looking at me, I am a widow with three children, its Papa, through his empowerment programmes for widows in the church, that is helping me to train my children in school. There’s nobody from their father side supporting me, just this man and God. Do you know the things he has done for vmany members, materially and spiritually in this church? He gives people time to see him and talk to him. We have access to him. Is that the person I will now abandon because one Jezebel is lying against him? Even God will punish me if I do that. I will never do that to Papa, never!”
